The Mas de l'Abundància winery is entrenched in Spanish history, including a rich legacy of quality wine production. Translated as land of the abundant harvest, the winery takes its name from the 15th century when the current vineyard site in Montsant was farmed by monks from the nearby Scala Dei monastery, the first Carthusian monastery founded on the Iberian Peninsula. Mas de l'Abundància’s second wine, Fluminis, is a round, complex blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha Negra and Cariñena from the hillside town of Mas Roig. This vineyard’s low-production vines produce grapes of concentrated varietal character, and the resulting wine offers delicious aromas of black currants, fresh strawberries and dark chocolate. Fluminis means of the river in Latin, and recalls the owner’s last name, del Rio.
