New semester, new role

Even though the start of a new semester is the finish line for the admission process, in the first week of spring 2025 鈥 and her first week as director of undergraduate admission at 香蕉传媒 鈥 Morgan Logan 鈥15, M.A. 鈥25, remains on call for the students she has guided through the application process, ready to provide the same support as they adjust to college life.

Morgan Logan

鈥淥ne of the joys of my job is the start of the semester and move-in day. I get to be there for our students who are just starting out, and I get to talk to past students and hear about their progress and growth,鈥 shared Logan. 鈥淥ur goal is not just to admit and enroll students. It is about making sure Lenoir-Rhyne is the right fit for them, so they can grow academically and socially. It鈥檚 about seeing them earn their degree and find success as a college graduate because that鈥檚 going to help secure their success in the long run.鈥

A music major in the class of 2015, Logan began her admission career at Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina before returning to join the admission team at LR in 2021. Her approach to her career formed from her own experience as a high school senior going through the application process.

鈥淚 could tell I was cared for, even as a prospective student on my first visit. The office of admission helped connect me with the music department,鈥 she said. 鈥淲hen I returned for my second visit and audition, I was invited to stay and watch a choir rehearsal. As I observed the rehearsal, one of the professors sat next to me because she didn鈥檛 want me to feel out of place or alone. I learned how much it means to go the extra mile, how a small gesture to you can mean everything to someone else.鈥

Logan鈥檚 ability to forge strong relationships 鈥 with prospective students as well as their high schools and community colleges 鈥 has changed the lives of countless LR students and has been instrumental to the success of the Bear Bound transfer partnership. She helps them navigate both the admission application and the range of options for financial aid.

鈥淚 am someone who picks up the phone, who wants to talk to you, learn about your experiences and get to know you,鈥 she said. 鈥淚f you see me visiting your community college or high school, come and say hi! Let鈥檚 chat about your interests and goals. Once you get to know a student, the nuts and bolts of the application process become much easier, and a private college like LR can be affordable through numerous available scholarships.鈥

As director of undergraduate admission, Logan hopes to continue growing and learning so she can continue supporting students as they find the right fit for their education and success.

鈥淚 work with students of all ages, and so many of them consider the college application and enrollment process to be daunting and stressful,鈥 said Logan. 鈥淏ut they don鈥檛 have to do it alone. The process can be exciting and fun 鈥 just lean on us.鈥
