Lenoir-Rhyne to receive $4.3 million from state budget

香蕉传媒 will receive $4.3 million as part of the North Carolina state budget that was signed into law on November 18.

Part of the American Rescue Plan, the one-time funding will be used to help Lenoir-Rhyne recover from the economic challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, $1.3 million will help the university recover lost revenues from the COVID-19 pandemic. An additional $3 million is designated for capital improvements.

鈥淯nlike many colleges, Lenoir-Rhyne has not reduced faculty or staff, cut benefits, eliminated programs or tapped its endowment during the pandemic,鈥 said Dr. Fred Whitt, Lenoir-Rhyne president.

Whitt expressed his appreciation to North Carolina State Senator Dean Proctor for his support.

鈥淲e are incredibly grateful to Dean for his leadership,鈥 Whitt said. 鈥淗is work on behalf of Lenoir-Rhyne has been invaluable, and this funding will provide critical resources for Lenoir-Rhyne.鈥
